This year, Expedia released an article highlighting the top travel bucket list destinations for 2023. Since Expedia is a company that provides travel services, like Hotel bookings, Flights, rental cars, and activities, they use data and insights collected to make predictions for what the next year of traveling will look like.
In this blog post, I will break down each place on their list and why I think it made the cut! One of the destinations on the list is a trip we are already taking this year as a travel tribe (Hint: It's Amalfi Coast, Italy). We're ahead of the crowd! To read the full Expedia article, click here.
Top Bucket List Trips of 2023
"wind-sculpted glaciers, snow-capped peaks, and prowling mountain lions"
Patagonia is at the tip of South America, and one of the closest places on Earth to Antartica. A lot of adventure seekers are traveling here for the scenery, animals and crisp, cool air. If you go here, you basically went to Antartica!
Black Forest, Germany
"Welcome to the land of the Brothers Grimm, the cuckoo clock, and towering evergreen trees."
The Black Forest is an enchanting place, and filled with lots of myths and folklore stories. It's known as a beautiful place to hike and see nature. You can also visit some really old, architecturally beautiful German cities bordering the forest, like Freiburg im Breisgau, and get a taste of authentic German food (it's delicious, trust me)
"The jewel in Catalonia’s sun-kissed crown"
Barcelona will always have a special place in my heart. Not only is this city filled with energetic, friendly people, it's also sunny and warm, with beautiful beaches and calm waters. It doesn't hurt either that the seafood here is super fresh and delicious (and affordable!)
Amalfi Coast, Italy
"Embrace la dolce vita while lazing on pristine beaches, twirling pasta in outdoor cafes.."
I've explored northern Italy (Florence and Pisa), but never ventured as south as where Amalfi Coast is, closer to Naples. But we've all seen the pictures online of how beautiful the cliffside towns are and how clear and pretty the water is. I can't wait to experience it myself in May and I can't wait to see you there!
"From ancient ruins and enchanting villages to gorgeous vineyards and sun-kissed beaches"
Santorini is such an old city, built in the 9th century, so its filled with history and charm you can't find anywhere else in the world. Plus the white and blue buildings and streets make this destination feel even more luxurious. It's a must. Travel Tribe takes Santorini in 2024? Let me know!
If you've added some new destinations to your bucket list after reading this article, GOOD! Travel the world as much as possible and when you do visit these places, come back and tell me about how it went in the comments!
