Travel Affirmations - Building Confidence for Solo Female Travelers

There’s enough people and platforms out here to tell you, as a woman, that it’s not okay for you to travel alone. I’m just here to do my part in combating that narrative.


There are tons of countries that are kindest to solo female travelers, so don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t feel safe in foreign country alone. A full, comprehensive list of those countries is coming soon, so stay tuned for that!

Traveling alone comes with its own challenges, even if you aren't a woman. Stereotypes and prejudice have an impact on the treatment you’ll experience abroad and it varies based on the country you’re visiting, but there’s still something in your control despite that.


How you speak to yourself during your travels. How you reassure yourself that this is where you’re meant to be.


To give you a head start on shifting your mindset for traveling, here are 10 travel affirmations any solo female traveler ( and male with a few word adjustments) can say to start a solo trip on a positive, confident note.

  1. I have all the tools I need to have a safe trip.

  2. I welcome new perspectives of womanhood as I leave my comfort zone.

  3. I enjoy myself and my company confidently.

  4. Although it’s enjoyable to have a travel companion, I don’t need one to enjoy myself.

  5. I am open to new and exciting experiences that help me get in touch with my purest self.

  6. I am about to have the time of my life.

  7. The things I don’t know about traveling, I will learn on this journey.

  8. I release any stress and anxiety that holds me back from fully experiencing this moment.

  9. I accept that things may go differently than how I planned them to, and that’s ok.

  10. I am grateful for the opportunity to explore people and cultures beyond my comfort zone.


At the end of the day, I want you to remove any negative or harmful thoughts, feelings and emotions that could hinder you from your most fulfilling experience.
